Wilderness Foundation UK

The Wilderness Foundation UK is a charity based in rural Essex helping young people reconnect to society and themselves through outdoor adventure and mentoring. Our programme facilitation highlights the positive impact of nature on personal and social well being. Developing stewardship for nature and wild places is imbued through teaching of Leave no Trace Ethics and the John Muir Award, alongside volunteering opportunities. Our mission is to preserve wild places and change lives through outreach programmes that educate, inspire and reconnect young people facing a number of challenges in their lives. The content of these programmes aims to equip and enable young people to acquire skills from within themselves to navigate their futures safely and successfully.

We are working to keep people healthy and our planet wild!

We have a range of professional counsellors, all accredited to professional organisations, safeguarding trained and enhanced DBS cleared.

We offer face to face support for family or individuals experiencing severe difficulty and for those who are unable to manage, we offer online or telephone support. Please note this is a limited service for those in truly difficult circumstances.

Our charge is £55 per hour. We are also able to offer a limited number of funded spaces for those who have no means to pay. Please contact us for more details on availability of these funded sessions.

Free Mentoring and Coaching support

This service is not for those seeking therapy but someone simply to talk through life experiences, worries about the present and future, wanting to be helped, due to feeling ?stuck' or wishing to do some life planning and strategy for the future.

Our mentors and coaches are all safeguarding trained and enhance DBS checked and have extensive experience in working with a range of ages, with particular experience in working with teens.
