The Sunflower Community Project

SCP was established in April 2021 after the CEO of Forever Ahead announced he was stepping down. Claire and Tami decided to take over Forever Ahead, which had been running since November 2019. Claire had been the client liaison and counsellor support person at that time. Claire and Tami came up with the name and registered it with companies house in April, but officially the clients and team members came over in June of 2021.

The idea for the service was born out of the closing of ADAS, in March of 2019. ADAS was a charity helping those that were substance misusing and based in Harlow, Essex. Claire was an active member of the Team offering counselling, and group work for the clients. She also was offering peer support in Motivational Interviewing. Claire implemented a drop in creative group, the parenting and self-esteem workshops. At that time ADAS closed there were only private counsellors and the NHS IAPTUS service for those needing counselling.

Based in Harlow, covering West Essex and East Herts, helping those 18+ with Anxiety, Depression and Stress.

1 to 1 work: Cost is on a sliding scale: £35-£10 per session.
Structured group work: is also on a sliding scale £165-£85 for a 6 or 8 week course.
We also offer drop in groups, both online and face to face, which is donation based.

Mission Statement:

(a) The relief and rehabilitation of persons suffering with mental health disorder, in particular issues linked to stress, anxiety and depression, by the provision of counselling and recovery support

(b) To advance and develop counselling, complimentary therapies and recovery support services for all persons in need of mental health support

(c) To promote the social integration within the community of persons in need of mental health support and to educate the public in matters relating to mental health
