Learning Together – Trust Links

Learning Together is a 6-week programme for young people aged 11-16 who are struggling to attend school due to their mental health and/or Special educational needs ' both diagnosed and undiagnosed.

The programme provides 2 workshops each week at our tranquil Rochford site, offering an enriching learning experience focused on promoting positive mental health and wellbeing.

Each workshop is delivered by a range of mental health professionals and local specialists, with the aim to build confidence, resilience, and increase feelings of positive self-esteem. The workshops will be tailored to meet the individual needs of those attending to give them the best possible chance of success.

Who can join Learning Together?

All young people of secondary school age who are not currently accessing education (or attending infrequently) and live within the Southend-on-Sea, Rochford and Castle Point areas are eligible to attend Learning Together, and you can make a self-referral or be referred by other professionals.

We believe in co-production at Trust Links, and we want to involve young people and parents in the creation of the workshops, by finding out what they want to learn about, what they think would help them the most, and what makes the best learning environment for them. You will have the opportunity to meet with staff online and in person to get to know them before the young person attends the sessions, to allow familiarity with the site and staff, as well as getting to know the young person and their needs.

?It's nice to be with others who are also anxious or a bit nervous. It's nice to come out from a session and feel positive and it carries on through my day. It makes me think about the way I look at myself. I am really enjoying the project? ' Rory, 12
