Butterfly Programme – For Young Girls 13-24

The Gifted has been awarded funding by the Police and Crime Commissioner for Essex to deliver a FREE project called The Butterfly Programme, working with vulnerable girls who attend school, work or live in Harlow. This consists of a specialist six-week programme, covering subjects such as aspirations, self-esteem, cyber bullying, e-safety, body image, decision-making and healthy relationships as well as providing one to one coaching/mentoring for girls and young women with particular difficulties or those demonstrating risky behaviour.

The Butterfly Programme in Harlow will help to build the self-esteem and confidence of girls and young women aged 13-24, in addition to raising aspirations and supporting them to become resilient and capable adults. The team will coordinate the girls into the most appropriate groups, assessing their needs and vulnerability, and target those who require support in key areas to ensure they receive the right balance of support and/or one to one mentoring.

The Gifted are looking to gain referrals and engage some of the harder to reach young people. If you feel that any girls and young women you work with meet this criteria and would benefit from the Butterfly Programme, or if any of your mental health networks would be useful, please let Tori Pearson.
